Fall 2025 SS Radhakrishnan Scholarship
Shobana Radhakrishnan (MS CS ‘99) established the SS Radhakrishnan Scholarship in 2020 in order to help make education more affordable for Illinois Computer Science students and to honor her father, SS Radhakrishnan. This scholarship will provide $5,000 to the recipient for the 2025-2026 academic year.
Eligibility
- Must be a current on-campus MCS student (Urbana-Champaign program and Chicago program).
- Students who are graduating in December 2025 are not eligible.
- Preference may be given to international students.
- Preference may be given to students that are involved with or have an interest in: Women in Engineering (WIE); Women in Computer Science (WCS); or other similar programs or organizations.

- Essay 1: 500 words maximum describing why are you pursuing a Professional Masters of Computer Science degree and how a University of Illinois MCS degree supports your future goals.
- Essay 2: 1 single-spaced page maximum, sharing your involvement with Women in Engineering (WIE), Women in Computer Science (WCS), or other similar programs or organizations. Please include how the experience(s) has/have impacted you. If you are not currently involved with these or similar organizations, please write about how you plan to get involved and what you would hope to gain from such an experience.
