Mavis Future Faculty Fellows

The Grainger College of Engineering offers the Mavis Future Faculty Fellows (MF3) program to senior PhD students who are interested in pursuing engineering faculty careers. This program affords a significant number of qualified students an opportunity to prepare for careers in academia by developing skills that are also transferrable to positions managing research programs and engaging with higher education from outside of academia. To learn more about the MF3 Program, please visit https://publish.illinois.edu/engr-mavis/.

You are eligible to apply if you
• are a current PhD student within The Grainger College of Engineering (including Agricultural & Biological Engineering and Chemical & Biomolecular Engineering),
• have passed your qualifying exam,
• will be on campus as a full-time student for the entire 2023-2024 academic year (fall and spring terms), and
• are interested in pursuing an engineering faculty career.

MF3 Fellows are admitted on a competitive basis. If selected for the MF3 program, you will need to register for a one-credit-hour seminar course, ENG 591 MF3, during both fall and spring terms. Seminars will be held on Fridays (both semesters) from noon to 12:50 pm. Mavis Fellows will receive a $2,000 fellowship, paid in two installments pending completion of all MF3 requirements.
